John Henson

Architect John "Ambo" Henson is a self-taught cartoonist who hails from San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines.  He has been a member of the Samahang Kartunista ng Pilipinas since the late 80s under the term of the legendary Roni Santiago.  Several of his cartoon strips and single-frame gag cartoons were published in the Manila Bulletin during that period until the early 90s.

A four-page comics story (He-Boy) that he created has also been published in the Pinoy Funny Komiks and another one in the Jingle Songbook.  Some of his caricatures were also published on the front page of the Pilipino Star Ngayon.

In 2013 he became a a member of the International Society of Caricature Artists (ISCA) which is based in the USA.  One of his caricatures had been featured in their quarterly magazine, The Exaggerated Features.

One of his caricatures had also been chosen among the top 3 in a category of a cartoon competition organized by ISCA Korea.

In 2014, his lone entry to the First Sisak International Cartoon Competition in Sisak, Croatia had been chosen to be in the top 60 where works of winners will be published in a coffee table book and were displayed in the National Museum.

At present he is an architect in private practice.
